New tricks
In advance of a collection of blogs to be published on Howard’s Way entitled “The Tracks of My Years” building up to my 40th birthday, I thought I would use Peter’s Friends as guinea pigs to try uploading music to a file-sharing host which you can all download for free. So, today we have a hidden classic from our old friend Mr Albarn’s popular beat combo, as featured on the Starshaped video/DVD as illustrated above. Sober managed to find it on a bootleg CD, shared it with me, which I am now delighted to share with you. Just in case you are new to downloading music, here is a bluffers guide which even technophobes like Shteeeeve should be able to get their head around. Enjoy.
The Wassailing Song (1992) MP3
How to save music (for the uninitiated)
1. Click on the above link. You will be re-directed to my friends at Messrs ZSHARE.
2. Click on “Download this file”
3. Click “Skip this ad”
4. Click “Download now”. As the screen will state, “Your download will begin in 20/60 seconds. Have patience.
5. Click “Click here to start you download”
You will be asked “Do you want to open or save this file?” Choose “Save”, and save to a location of you choosing, et voila!
Once saved, you may wish to save this to iTunes. As I have discovered, unless you move/copy the file to the correct location, it will not be located or "synched" with iTunes. So….
1. Move/save the file to the following location : My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.
2. When saved, go back to My documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.
3. Right click on the track, and choose “Open with iTunes”.
iTunes should then open up and play the track. Don’t forget to adjust the track details (if necessary) via the “Get info/Info” tabs by right-clicking on the track concerned.
Easy.
